Ideas for Project

In morden life, I want to create a movie that reflects the conflict between reality and inner thoughts. I want to explore that when people try to control their own emotions, those feelings that were suppressed reappear?

Inspiration

According to the inspirations, i want to choose shadows to reflect genuine thoughts. Shadow have a conversion with aduience and the comparison between the two tells different stories. Shadow always connect with body, but can’t touch. I want to put some postures for shadows, letting it express the unspoken desires through pauses, escapes, and transformations. It shows narrative, storytelling, and visual experiment.

From character performance to narrative structure

The whole process through the motion conflict between character and shadow to display how people in daily rules restrict their body and behavior. Firstly, I start to consider how shadow can affect surrounding space. Secondly, whether the situation of character can through materials, lights or environmental change to display.

I want to design two or three scence, and connected part use a videos that like a advertisement (use video sequences to finish ti). Every visual change is triggered by the behavior of the characters. Every scencs may have four stages, such as waiting, abnormal, conflict, and response.

I want to use surreal language of space and materials to show the emotions. The tiny space may reflect supress and anxiety. At the same time, the lighting color not mean the relax, but the central figure’s bowing and curling posture made me feel withdrawn and uneasy.

Maybe I hope to try changing the scale of familiar objects to create more better viewpoints. I want to put the shadow onto the wall, afterthat continue to displsy the motion of shadow.

About materials, I want to use some transparent and ghost material that can show some compare between reality and virtual. I want to put the motion for shadow with a transparent way, letting the shadow have their owen ideas. In this part, how to make the audience understand a character without facial features or even constantly changing shape.

Next, I will first complete the dynamic storyboard to confirm whether the conflict between the character and the shadow can be understood. Afterwards, I will test the motion delay, liquid deformation, environmental transparency, and observe the impact of each effect on the narrative.
